AIRPORTS

1) "Vincenzo Magliocco" COMISO which is ~40 Km from Donnalucata. It is the most convenient airport but it is small and it is served by low-cost airlines, like ryan air, usually with only one flight every other day. www.aeroportodicomiso.eu.

2) International Airport "Vincenzo Bellini – Fontanarossa "CATANIA which is ~125 Km from Donnalucata. Catania's airport is well connected with the main Italian and European destinations. www.aeroporto.catania.it

PLEASE NOTE: in both cases, we highly recommend to rent a car, as public transportation works only among the main cities and the bus schedule is not optimized for sightseeing. You’ll find car rentals at both airports: http://www.rentalcars.com. 

Donnalucata can be reached from Catania via the SS114 to the Primosole bridge. Continue along the SS194 until you reach Vizzini, then continue along SS514 to Ragusa and continue along the SS115 (State Road South Western Sicula). Once at the junction for Marina di Ragusa, take it and take the SP25 to Marina. Lastly, take the SP89 coasts up to Donnalucata. The itinerary is about 130 km. Travel time by car is just under two hours.

If you'd rather take public transportation, these are your options:

-From Comiso airport to Donnalucata: you can take a bus company called "Azienda Siciliana Trasporti AST". The journey is ~2 hours  with a change of bus in Ragusa. Visit the website http://www.aziendasicilianatrasporti.it or call 840 000 32 to learn the complete list of bus timetables.

-From Catania to Donnalucata: you can take the bus company "Azienda Siciliana Trasporti AST"  There are approximately 8 daily routes that go from Catania to Donnalucata. The journey is ~3 hours; Tickets cannot be purchased on the bus: you should buy them in the ticket kiosk near the bus stop. http://www.aziendasicilianatrasporti.it
